Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal care and a desire to support veterinarians in providing high-quality medical care to pets. As a Veterinary Assistant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the well-being of animals while assisting in various clinical and administrative tasks.

Responsibilities

Assist veterinarians during examinations and procedures, ensuring the comfort and safety of animals.
Prepare and maintain examination rooms, ensuring they are clean and stocked with necessary supplies.
Perform routine tasks such as taking vital signs, administering medications, blood draws, running labs, invoicing, filling medications.
Maintain accurate medical records and histories for each animal.
Educate pet owners on proper pet care, including nutrition, behavior, and preventive health measures.
Operate basic veterinary equipment such as X-ray machines and lab machines (training provided).
Stay informed about veterinary terminology, animal anatomy, and husbandry practices.

Qualifications

Previous experience in a veterinary hospital is required.
Knowledge of veterinary terminology is highly desirable.
Familiarity with animal anatomy and husbandry practices is an asset.
Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
Strong communication skills to effectively interact with pet owners and team members.
A genuine love for animals and commitment to their welfare.
