Role Overview
A Quality Engineer is responsible for ensuring the quality, reliability, and performance of data pipelines, backend systems, and frontend applications within the DI Platform. They design and execute comprehensive test strategies that validate end-to-end data flows, system integrations, and user-facing functionality. Test Engineers collaborate closely with data engineers, developers, analysts, and product teams to identify defects early, drive continuous improvement, and ensure that all deliverables meet the highest quality standards.
Key tasks include manual and automated testing, data validation, API and UI testing, integration testing, regression testing, and establishing quality metrics and documentation. Test Engineers play a crucial role in enabling data-driven decision-making by ensuring the accuracy, availability, and consistency of data across the organization, while also safeguarding the usability and stability of the frontend interfaces.
What will you do in this role
• Design, develop, and maintain comprehensive test strategies, test plans, and test cases for data pipelines, backend services, and frontend applications.
• Perform functional, integration, system, regression, and performance testing across the entire DI platform.
• Validate data ingestion, transformation, and loading processes to ensure data accuracy, completeness, and consistency.
• Test data pipelines populating data lakes and data warehouses.
• Perform frontend testing to ensure correct data representation, UI functionality, usability, and cross-browser compatibility.
• Collaborate closely with data engineers, frontend developers, product owners, and business teams to understand requirements and define test scenarios aligned with business goals.
• Automate test cases for backend APIs, data validation, and frontend applications to improve test coverage and efficiency.
• Use monitoring and logging tools to validate system behavior and identify potential risks and defects early.
• Identify, document, track, and verify defects using defect tracking tools and ensure timely resolution.
• Participate in CI/CD pipelines by integrating automated tests into build and deployment processes.
• Ensure platform stability, reliability, scalability, and performance through continuous testing.
• Maintain detailed test documentation, test reports, and quality metrics for all testing activities.
• Work within a matrix organizational structure, reporting to both functional and project managers.
• Participate in project planning, sprint ceremonies, and release readiness activities from a QA perspective.
What should you have
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or any Technology stream.
• 3+ years of experience in software testing, including backend, data, and frontend testing.
• Strong experience in testing data pipelines, ETL/ELT processes, and data warehouses.
• Hands-on experience with API testing tools and frameworks.
• Experience in frontend testing (UI, usability, cross-browser, responsiveness).
• Strong understanding of software testing methodologies, SDLC, and STLC.
• Hands-on experience in test automation for backend and frontend applications.
• Experience working with CI/CD pipelines and version control systems.
• Good understanding of cloud environments (preferably AWS).
• Experience with databases, SQL, and data validation techniques.
• Familiarity with performance and security testing is a plus.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written).
• Proven track record of delivering high-quality testing results.
• Product- and customer-centric mindset.
• Attention to detail, proactive attitude, and continuous improvement mindset.
