Position Description:
The Elanco External Manufacturing (EEM) Procurement team partners with Contract Manufacturing Organizations (CMOs) and suppliers worldwide to manufacture and package Drug Products and APIs supporting global Animal Health markets. The team plays a critical role in delivering value to Elanco by driving cost competitiveness, mitigating supply risks, strengthening manufacturing network capabilities, and supporting sustainable business growth.
The position involves intense day-to-day interaction with External Manufacturing Operations, including Technical Services, Quality, Supply Chain, and Regional Operations teams, and acts as a key interface between Procurement, Operations, and Value Office.
The EEM International DP Procurement Manager is responsible for leading complex sourcing initiatives, negotiations, and supplier relationship management activities, while shaping and executing sourcing strategies aligned with business objectives, productivity targets, and risk management priorities.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Define and execute procurement and sourcing strategies for External Manufacturing Drug Products in alignment with business objectives, drive productivity targets, and risk mitigation priorities.
- Act as a key interface between Procurement, External Manufacturing Operations (Operations, Technical Services, Quality, Supply Chain, Planning), Value Office, and Finance, ensuring alignment and effective execution.
- Lead complex sourcing initiatives, including RFIs, RFPs, business case development, supplier selection, and stakeholder approval.
- Drive cost-reduction and cost-avoidance initiatives while ensuring supply robustness, compliance, and product quality.
- Lead commercial negotiations with CMOs and suppliers, including products, services, and technology transfers, and ensure value realization across cost, service, and risk.
- Manage strategic supplier relationships, including performance reviews, risk management, and long-term value creation initiatives.
- Develop and maintain category and sourcing strategies informed by market intelligence, supply trends, capacity dynamics, and competitive analysis.
- Lead contract negotiation, approval, and lifecycle management in line with procurement policies, legal requirements, and business needs.
- Influence and lead cross-functional projects within the assigned spend scope, driving sustainable value creation without direct line authority.
- Leverage data, analytics, and digital tools (e.g., Power BI, AI-enabled insights) to support decision-making, performance tracking, and transparency across the External Manufacturing network.

Minimum Qualification (education, experience and/or training, required certifications):
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, Chemistry, or Pharmacy
- At least 5 years of experience in Procurement, Supply Chain, External Manufacturing, or related functions within a large multinational environment.
- Strong commercial acumen with a solid understanding of value chains, cost drivers, and manufacturing economics.
- Proven experience in developing and executing Category or Sourcing Strategies in complex, regulated environments.
- Demonstrated ability to build and articulate robust business cases, influencing manufacturing network and sourcing decisions.
- Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills, including the ability to navigate conflict and align diverse cross-functional teams.
- Proven negotiation skills and understanding of commercial and contract law.
- Hands-on, results-oriented mindset with the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Experience working in global, matrix organizations with time-zone flexibility.
- Fluent in the English language.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate complex topics and influence senior stakeholders.
- Experience with SAP and/or ARIBA.
Additional Preferences:
- Experience in regulated industries such as Pharmaceutical, Animal Health.
- Strong working exposure to Manufacturing, External Operations, Technical Services, Quality, and/or Supply Chain, enabling effective collaboration with Operations stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to act as a change agent, driving adoption of procurement solutions, new ways of working, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Strong analytical and digital capabilities, including advanced data analysis and visualization, with experience or hands-on interaction with AI-enabled tools and Power BI dashboards to support sourcing strategies, productivity initiatives, and performance management.
- Proven experience in end-to-end third-party and supplier relationship management, including supplier selection, negotiation, contracting, performance monitoring, and issue resolution.
- Other languages would be an advantage.
