California Transplants is looking to hire a Maintenance Technician in Newman, CA. This position would be responsible for scheduling and performing maintenance on their greenhouse production facilities and equipment, including seeders, forklifts, tractors, trailers, and vehicles. The role involves working with electrical, pneumatic, conveyance, plumbing, and control systems and offers opportunities for professional growth as skills and responsibilities expand.

The company focuses on producing healthy seedlings through meticulous seeding, germination, and transplanting processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the primary point of contact for troubleshooting and resolving any equipment issues.
- Proactively maintaining the facility, seeders, forklifts, tractors, vehicles, trailers.
- Use of both Mig and Arc welding and oxy acetylene torch.
- Proficient in electrical troubleshooting of 120v, 240v, and 480v single/three phase.
- Knowledge of limit switches, electrical contactors, and overloads.
- Knowledge of pneumatics and conveyance systems.
- Knowledge of basic HVAC and plumbing.
- Understand metric and imperial measurements.
- Identify and correct potential safety hazards.
- Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
- Ability to troubleshoot and solve a wide range of challenges.
- Flexibility, organization, and critical thinking abilities in a fast-paced work environment.
- Strong work ethic that strives for efficiency, timeliness, safety, and excellence.
- Proficient in MS office and standard computer software.
- Ability to reflect, analyze, communicate results, and initiate change when needed.
- Capable of working in high/low temperature conditions in the field and greenhouse and long hours during growing season.
- A valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
- Excellent communication skills, fluent in English. Spanish is a plus.
- Technical certifications are a plus.
