Bar H Land & Cattle is hiring a Farm Equipment Operator to join our team in Emerson, IA (about 40 minutes southeast of Omaha). In this role, you will primarily assist with the operation of farm machinery and agricultural equipment for our row crop farm operation, including preparing the land for planting and other essential agriculture and farm tasks. Additionally, you will assist with cattle management and participate in the calving process when needed.
We are a dynamic farming and agriculture operation located in Emerson, IA, managing over 1,500 acres of farmland, including row crops, alfalfa, and grass hay. In addition, we maintain a herd of 275 mother cows. Our team is dedicated, hardworking, and committed to responsible farm management, proper use of agriculture equipment, and ensuring the best care for our crops, cattle, and each other.
We offer competitive hourly pay of $20+ depending on experience, along with additional benefits.
What you will be doing:
- Operate tractors, farm machinery, and agriculture equipment throughout the spring planting and fall harvest seasons.
- Perform preventative maintenance and minor repairs on farm equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety.
- Assist with livestock and cattle care, including monitoring pregnant cows and assisting with calving as needed.
- Support general farm and agriculture operations, including land preparation, field work, and seasonal tasks during peak farming periods.
