Job Summary
We are seeking a Manager to assist with the day-to-day operations Scottsdale Farms Garden Center & Nursery. This role blends hands-on horticulture, team leadership, and operational execution to deliver an exceptional guest experience while driving sales, quality, and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership
- Supervise, train, and develop team members and model excellent customer service.
- Set daily priorities, delegate tasks, and coach for performance.
- Foster a positive, safe, and collaborative work environment.
Operations & Inventory
- Plan, order, receive, merchandise, and care for plants
- Maintain accurate inventory and operational records.
- Execute seasonal setups, resets, and special projects.
- Plan and oversee growing/holding programs for select trees & shrubs.
- Learn and monitor the irrigation system (with partnership from other managers).
- Support opening/closing procedures and efficient labor scheduling.
- Partner with management on training and process improvements.
- Support retail sales as needed.
- Perform other related duties to support business goals based on the needs of the business.
Customer Experience
- Assist customers with selection, placement, and plant care guidance.
- Ensure department areas are organized, well-merchandised, safe, and welcoming.
Qualifications
Required
- Horticulture experience and comfort with hands-on work.
- Strong communication, organization, and attention to detail.
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams and achieve results.
- Positive, proactive, and team-oriented approach.
Preferred
- Management experience in a nursery or retail environment.
- Georgia Ornamental & Turf pesticide license, or ability to obtain.
Work Environment
Role involves indoor/outdoor work in nursery and garden center settings. Requires standing, bending, lifting, and working on your feet for extended periods.
