We are a non-corporate Veterinary Practice located in Sylvania Ohio seeking a dedicated and skilled Veterinary Technician RVT/LVT to join our veterinary team. Duties are not limited to
- Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and diagnostic procedures with precision and professionalism.
- Perform laboratory tests, including blood work, urinalysis, and other diagnostic procedures to aid in accurate diagnosis.
- Handle animal restraint and restraint techniques safely to facilitate examinations, treatments, and procedures.
- Maintain aseptic techniques during surgical preparation and other invasive procedures to prevent infection.
- IV catheter placement, fluid calculations and maintenence.
- Anesthesia induction, monitoring and recovery.
- Conduct dental cleanings, apply dental terminology knowledge, and assist with pet grooming as needed.
- Manage animal husbandry tasks such as feeding, cleaning enclosures, and monitoring health status of hospitalized animals.
- Operate radiographic equipment to obtain X-ray images while ensuring safety protocols are followed.
- Proven veterinary technician experience with a solid understanding of veterinary terminology and animal physiology.
- Kennel experience is preferred to ensure comfort with various animal behaviors and environments.
- Demonstrate veterinary critical care experience to manage emergency situations effectively.
- Laboratory experience involving diagnostic testing procedures is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with pet care practices including animal restraint, pet grooming, and basic pet training techniques.
- Knowledge of dental terminology and procedures related to veterinary dentistry.
- Maintain accurate medical records and documention.
- Educating pet owners on proper animal care, nutrition and preventive health measures.
- Intake/discharge of pets.
- Follow up with customer and pet needs.
