ABOUT THE JOB (THE HONEST VERSION)
We are a small, independently owned boarding kennel & cattery in Mutdapilly QLD (4307).
We are busy. We are fast-paced. We are very clean.
We care deeply about the animals — and we work hard to keep it that way.
This is not a “play with puppies all day” role.
This is a “move fast, think faster, clean constantly and still cuddle animals” role.
BEFORE YOU APPLY — YOU MUST:
→ Live close to Mutdapilly (check Google Maps first)
→ Have your own car & full licence (no public transport, no learners)
→ Be reliable (as in: shows up, on time, every time)
→ Be physically fit (lifting, bending, pulling, walking big dogs who disagree with you)
→ Include the word “Banana” in your cover letter
→ Have common sense & attention to detail (live animals depend on this)
→ Be confident handling large dogs (60kg+), cats, and small angry critters with opinions
→ Be able to work independently, under pressure, while multitasking

THE ROLE
We’re looking for Casual Animal Attendants to cover:
☼ Weekend and/or Weekday Shifts
+ Occasionally Public Holidays
+ Extra hours during Peak Periods available (Easter, School Holidays, Christmas/New Year)
Shift times:
- Morning: 7:30am – 10:30am
- Afternoon: 2:30pm – 5:30pm
$ Above award rates + weekend & penalty rates
! BEST SUITED TO:
- Vet nursing / vet tech / grooming / behaviour students
- Someone supplementing another job / currently studying
- Someone who wants real hands-on animal experience (not Instagram experience)
WHAT YOU’LL ACTUALLY BE DOING
You will be accountable for your own work and expected to multitask efficiently.
Daily duties include (but are not limited to):
* A LOT of cleaning (kennels, litter trays, yards, dishes, common areas, messes of all varieties)
* Feeding & medication routines (accuracy matters)
* Exercising & handling dogs (including strong pullers, stubborn breeds and nervous personalities)
* Handling cats (including uncooperative and spicy ones)
* Bathing, grooming & nail clipping
* Customer service – answering phones, taking bookings, payments, meet & greet the humans
* General housekeeping & yard maintenance
