If you’re hungry to build a varied and meaningful career in a community of brilliant and diverse minds to make a real difference, there’s only one choice.\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nAgronomic Research Manager III- West Illinois \r\n\r\n \r\n\r\n \r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nYOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nThe primary responsibilities of this role, Agronomic Research Manager lll (Washington, Illinois), are to: \r\n\r\n \r\n\r\n\r\n\tImplement small replicated plots or field scale research testing as required;\r\n\tManage data using internal database systems and submit high quality data in a timely manner;\r\n\tValidate and ensure that field protocol information, site assignments, data collected, and materials (seed/chemistry/samples) are available in a timely manner to field investigator;\r\n\tAssist in relevant data summarization;\r\n\tComplete all safety training as required and operate safely when handling pesticides, seed, or other products as well as vehicles and equipment used to conduct field trials;\r\n\tBe a proficient at safely operating, maintaining and transporting small plot research and commercial agricultural equipment;\r\n\tBe a proficient to ensure all compliance guidelines are met for various regulated field research activities;\r\n\tIdentify ways to improve the compliance process;\r\n\tManage and oversee local research site activities;\r\n\tLeverage key relationships for business needs;\r\n\tRecruit and hire temporary assistants and ensure that all required safety, compliance, and equipment training is completed;\r\n\tWork cross-functionally on field testing, equipment and equipment technology improvement projects;\r\n\tPosition entails driving a company vehicle (pooled or assigned to the individual). This may include being required to?drive greater than 5,000 business miles annually in a personal, pooled, or rented vehicle?OR?being expected to?frequently drive a pooled car as part of your job duties – regardless of mileage;?? \r\n\tPosition requires driving for the company that will fall under DOT/FMCSA jurisdiction and may require a CDL.?This may entail the hauling of trailers, product, supplies or equipment in a safe manner.\r\n\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nDomestic relocation assistance may be offered with this role.\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nWHO YOU ARE\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nYour success will be driven by your demonstration of our values. More specifically related to this position, Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nRequired Qualifications:\r\n\r\n\r\n\tBachelor’s degree in Agriculture or related discipline;\r\n\tAdvanced knowledge of crop production in an assigned geography which includes all or some of corn, canola, soybean, cotton, cereals, vegetables, and specialty crops;\r\n\tProficient knowledge of precision farming/GIS systems;\r\n\tObtain and maintain a pesticide applicator certification in the state(s) within the territory;\r\n\tAbility to lift up to 60 lbs (a bag of seed);\r\n\t\r\n\tValid driver’s license. Driving record (MVR) will be reviewed (i.e. moving violations, accidents, license suspension, etc.) and must meet guidelines based on the company’s Risk?Screening for Hiring Drivers;\r\n\t\r\n\t\r\n\tPossess a DOT Driver medical card or the ability to obtain one through successfully completing and passing a DOT physical. In?addition, candidate must be able to meet all applicable DOT/FMCSA criteria. Drivers with previous DOT driving?experience may be required to undergo FMCSA safety checks and applicable review;\r\n\t\r\n\t\r\n\tPossess a CDL license or the ability to obtain one.\r\n\t\r\n\r\n\r\nPreferred: \r\n\r\n\r\n\tAt least eight years of experience in Agronomy, Sales, Field Development or R&D related roles, or Master of Science with at least five years of experience or Ph.D. with at least two years of experience in agriculture or related discipline;\r\n\r\n\r\nEmployees can expect to be paid a salary between $90,814.40 - $136,221.60. Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission (if relevant).
