This position will remain open until a suitable candidate is found.\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nQUALIFICATIONS:\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\n- Strong background in calf raising and health management\r\n- Experience in supervising teams in an agricultural setting\r\n- Analytical skills to assess calf performance and make data-based decisions\r\n- Ability to organize, train, and motivate employees\r\n- Familiarity with feeding systems, pasteurizers, and calf barn equipment\r\n- Strong communication skills\r\n- Spanish language ability is a plus\r\n- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and record-keeping skills\r\n- Hands-on, can-do attitude with a willingness to be in the barn daily\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nJOB DESCRIPTION:\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nHansen Agri-PLACEMENT is seeking a highly motivated Calf Manager to oversee the total management of the calf-rearing unit, which includes both the calf care operation and the maternity. This is a leadership role requiring a hands-on individual who excels at leading a team while directly contributing to the daily care and health of the calves and newborn animals.\r\n\r\nKey Responsibilities:\r\n\r\n- Provide full management of calf operations, from newborns to four-month-olds, including daily feeding, health monitoring, and growth performance\r\n- Oversee the maternity care unit, ensuring proper calving assistance, newborn care, and transition into the calf program\r\n- Manage the pasteurized milk feeding program and guarantee timely, accurate delivery of milk to calves\r\n- Administer vaccinations, perform freeze branding, and execute other routine calf processing procedures\r\n- Maintain detailed and accurate records for calf health, treatments, feed intake, and growth rates\r\n- Monitor data, review performance reports, and make management decisions based on analysis\r\n- Oversee inventory and ordering of medications, vaccines, and necessary calf-rearing supplies\r\n- Train, lead, and supervise a team of 8 employees to ensure adherence to animal care protocols\r\n- Promote a culture of animal welfare, facility cleanliness, and high standards of care in both the calf and maternity areas\r\n- Collaborate with veterinarians, nutritionists, and other farm management to ensure calf health protocols are followed and improved upon when necessary\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nALL INQUIRIES ARE KEPT CONFIDENTIAL.
