We think about the customer and make doing business with McCain easy. \r\n\r\nThe Maintenance Technician (Refrigeration & Boiler Specific) is responsible for performing maintenance and ensuring the safe operation of a two-stage ammonia refrigeration system, low-pressure boilers, hydraulic systems, and low-pressure air systems within the facility. This position is hourly and full-time, reporting directly to the Maintenance Supervisor. This role will require a working schedule of Monday - Friday.. \r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nAccountabilities: \r\n\r\n\r\n\tOperate and maintain ammonia refrigeration systems, cooling towers, liquid pumps, freezers, vessels, and associated support equipment.\r\n\tProactively participate in the facility’s Process Safety Management Program.\r\n\tOperate and maintain Cleaver Brooks boilers, including conducting water tests and adjustments for boilers and cooling towers.\r\n\tQualify as an Ammonia and Boiler Operator within nine months.\r\n\tUnderstand and perform freezer defrost procedures and maintain cryolators.\r\n\tUse various trade tools, hand tools, welding equipment, and perform preventative maintenance according to standard procedures.\r\n\tReport equipment failures to the Utilities Supervisor both verbally and in writing.\r\n\tExecute basic troubleshooting for electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems using appropriate tools and schematics.\r\n\tConduct basic welding and fabrication such as straight welds with stick, TIG, or wire feed equipment and basic machining including lathe and milling machine setup.\r\n\tMaintain an orderly, safe, and sanitary work area.\r\n\tUtilize computerized maintenance systems (e.g., SAP) and email for reporting and communication.\r\n\tUndertake general building maintenance including plumbing, painting, and general repairs.\r\n\tPrepare, read, write, and understand routine reports and provide effective shift handover.\r\n\tTrain and coach maintenance trainees and other technicians.\r\n\tAdhere strictly to facility safety guidelines, Lock-Out/Tag-Out procedures, proper lifting techniques, and use of PPE.\r\n\tComply with company and plant GMP policies.\r\n\t \r\n\r\n\r\nQualifications: \r\n\r\n\r\n\tCertification as Ammonia Operator (up to Ammonia Technician II) is highly preferred.\r\n\tHigh school diploma or GED; Associate Degree or Certifications in mechanical fields preferred.\r\n\tAbility to read and interpret company policies, procedures, safety rules, electrical schematics, and maintenance instructions.\r\n\tPrior knowledge of electronics, refrigeration, pneumatic and hydraulic systems, and troubleshooting techniques.\r\n\tPhysical ability to lift, push, or pull up to 35 lbs frequently, and occasionally up to 50 lbs.\r\n\tAbility to continuously stand, sit, walk, reach, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk, or hear.\r\n\t \r\n\r\n\r\nAbout McCain\r\n\r\nAt McCain, we’re feeding the world: from French fries to cakes, we contribute to the important role food plays in people's lives.
