\r\n\r\nJob Description\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nThe Opportunity:\r\n\r\nThe Finance Manager, Procurement provides financial leadership and strategic partnership across Procurement, Commercial, and Revenue Management teams to drive profitability and cost efficiency at Maple Leaf Foods. This role oversees the financial performance of purchasing and sourcing activities, with a primary focus on packaging, ingredients, co-manufactured products, and raw meats.\r\n\r\n\r\nActing as a trusted advisor, the Finance Manager translates market trends and sourcing strategies into actionable financial insights that connect day-to-day procurement decisions to P&L outcomes. Applications received beyond that date are not guaranteed consideration.\r\n\r\n\r\nReason for vacancy: Incremental Headcount\r\nCompensation: $94,000 - $141,000 CAD base pay annually plus annual short-term incentive\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nSnapshot of a Day-in-the-Life:\r\n\r\n\r\n\tLead financial planning, forecasting, and reporting for procurement activities, delivering clear insights into spending, savings, and cost drivers.\r\n\tPartner closely with Procurement leaders to support supplier negotiations, sourcing strategies, and contract management through robust financial analysis.\r\n\tAnalyze purchasing trends and identify opportunities for cost savings, efficiency improvements, and margin enhancement.\r\n\tProduce and interpret procurement performance reporting, including KPIs such as purchase price variances (PPVs), cost reductions, claims, and rebates.\r\n\tProvide detailed analysis of procurement cost impacts at a GPA$ level, supporting pricing actions, margin management, and profitability decisions.\r\n\tCollaborate with Revenue Management and Commercial teams to translate cost movements into strategic pricing and revenue insights.\r\n\tSupport strategic sourcing initiatives through financial evaluations, including make-versus-buy decisions, supplier investments, and category planning.\r\n\tEnsure strong financial governance, internal controls, and compliance with accounting standards and corporate policies, support audits and risk assessments.\r\n\tContribute financial insight to long-term initiatives, including capital projects and enterprise cost optimization programs.\r\n\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nWhat You’ll Bring:\r\n\r\n\r\n\tPost-secondary education in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field (required)\r\n\t3–5 years of progressive finance experience in a supply chain or procurement environment\r\n\tDemonstrated experience in cost accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and internal controls\r\n\tStrong analytical and financial modeling skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and translate it into business insights\r\n\tTechnology-savvy mindset with strong aptitude for working in ERP systems and data analysis tools (SAP preferred)\r\n\tExcellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and partner effectively across functions\r\n\tStrong sense of urgency, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment\r\n\tA proactive, curious self-starter with confidence to challenge assumptions, ask questions, and drive continuous improvement\r\n\tPrior experience in food manufacturing is considered an asset\r\n\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nWhat We Offer at Maple Leaf Foods:\r\n\r\n\r\n\tBeing part of a high-performance, people-focused company that has an inspiring and unique vision to become the most sustainable protein company on earth, and a deep commitment to sustainable protein across North America.\r\n\tAn inclusive company culture and a work environment that keeps our people safe, rewards excellence, and empowers everyone to learn and contribute their best. \r\n\tCompetitive Health and Wellness benefits that offer flexibility to meet your individual or family needs, including programs focused on improving mental health and wellbeing.
