Job Description: Our client is seeking an experienced Small Animal Locum Veterinarian to provide cover from 20th March through to the end of June 2026, with the possibility of extension. This position requires confidence in sole charge and the ability to manage a varied caseload independently across mid-week and weekend shifts.
Working Wednesday through Saturday, you will oversee consultations, routine surgical procedures, and case management within an established clinic environment. The role offers the opportunity to practise autonomously while being supported by an experienced nursing team in a well-organised setting.
In this position, your responsibilities will include:
- Managing consultations and treatment plans independently
- Performing routine soft tissue surgeries and diagnostics
- Overseeing inpatient care and daily clinical workflow
- Communicating clearly with clients regarding case progress
- Maintaining accurate and timely medical records
Qualifications Needed:
- BVSc or equivalent qualification recognised in Australia
- Proven experience in small animal general practice
- Confidence working in sole charge capacity
- Strong decision-making and organisational skills
- Availability for Wednesday to Saturday roster
