Your Role: Data Privacy Consultant, EMEA
As the Data Privacy Consultant for the EMEA region, you will be a vital member of our global Ethics & Compliance team, playing a key role in advancing Elanco’s commitment to data privacy. You will serve as the primary privacy subject matter expert for our European operations, guiding the business in navigating the complex landscape of data protection laws. In this role, you will own and execute critical global privacy processes, partner with stakeholders across the company to embed privacy-by-design principles and directly contribute to maturing our global privacy program. This is an opportunity to make a significant impact by protecting our company’s data, building trust with our customers, and fostering a culture of privacy across Elanco.
Your Responsibilities:
Serve as a key data privacy point of contact for the EMEA region, providing expert guidance to business partners on data protection laws and best practices to mitigate privacy risk.
Manage and execute core global privacy processes, including responding to data subject requests, conducting privacy reviews and data protection impact assessments, advising on privacy clauses and Data Processing Agreements and managing incident response for the region.
Develop and deliver targeted data privacy training and communications to enhance awareness and compliance across the business.
Support strategic projects and initiatives designed to advance and mature Elanco’s global data privacy program and principles.
Collaborate with key stakeholders in Legal, Information Security, Procurement and other functions to ensure a cohesive and effective approach to data protection.
What You Need to Succeed (minimum qualifications):
Education: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience.
Experience: A minimum of 5 years of dedicated experience in a data privacy function, preferably within a global, multi-national environment.
Top Skills:
- Deep working knowledge of European data privacy laws (especially GDPR) and best practices.
- Demonstrated ability to influence and provide clear, practical guidance to business partners with a strong customer-service orientation.
- Proven ability to independently manage core privacy operational processes, including privacy impact assessments, data subject requests, and incident response.
- Fluency in English (both written and verbal) is required.
What will give you a competitive edge (preferred qualifications):
Professional privacy certification (e.g., CIPP/E, CIPP/M, or similar).
Hands-on experience with privacy management software, particularly TrustArc.
Experience working within the pharmaceutical or animal health industry.
Fluency in an additional European language(s).
Proven project management skills and experience leading cross-functional initiatives.
Additional Information:
Travel: 10-15%
Location: This is an on-site role. The strongly preferred location is Elanco's office in Warsaw, Poland; however, other Elanco office locations in Europe may be considered for highly qualified candidates.
