Job Description
Based within our Food Technical team. You'll be joining a team dedicated to excellence, ensuring our suppliers meet the high standards our customers expect. This role is vital in maintaining the integrity of our ingredients and supporting the journey of a product from initial development through to the customer's kitchen.
As an Assistant Category Food Technologist, you will play a key role in supporting supplier assurance and product quality. You will provide the technical insights that drive improvement across our supply chain and collaborate cross-functionally to ensure every meal we deliver is safe, sustainable, and of the highest quality. This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to grow their technical career in a fast-paced, innovative food business.
Core Responsibilities
- Collate and maintain data for key performance indicators to support delivery investigations and monitor compliance
- Manage supplier non-conformances, including investigating customer complaints and coordinating raw material issues
- Establish and maintain positive working relationships with our suppliers
- Coordinate technical schedules to ensure all routine activities are delivered against the plan
- Support the product development process by collaborating with internal stakeholders to deliver against project milestones
- Organise benchmarking sessions, transit trials, and raw material sign-offs
- Complete raw material specifications and conduct artwork approvals
- Conduct internal audits to ensure we maintain our high standards
- Support the delivery of departmental goals and performance targets
- Travel between Gousto sites and visit suppliers as part of your role
Who You Are
- Experience working within a food manufacturing environment
- Knowledge of food safety principles and raw material quality standards
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy
- Proficiency with computer applications, particularly Google Workspace
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage with various stakeholders
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage deadlines
- A collaborative mindset and the ability to work cross-functionally to drive improvements
- Willingness to travel to different sites and supplier locations
Qualifications
- HACCP Level 2
- Food Safety Level 2
- A degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Microbiology, or equivalent experience is an advantage but not essential
