This position supervises and participates in:

planting, cultivating, and harvesting vegetables, fruits, and forage

dusting, application of fertilizers and insecticides

activities relating to the feeding, breeding, and care of livestock and poultry.

maintains the pasture grounds, aquaculture facilities, fruit and vegetable crop (hydroponic and agricultural farming)

In addition to performing a variety of semi-skilled farming tasks, supervise the work of a group of inmates, patients, wards, or paid farm employees on a continuous basis and perform other related duties as assigned.
To qualify, you must meet all of the following requirements:
LEGAL AUTHORIZATION TO WORK:
The State of Hawaii requires all persons seeking employment with the government of the State shall be citizens, nationals, or permanent resident aliens of the United States, or eligible under federal law for unrestricted employment in the United States.
Experience: THREE (3) YEARS of experience in general farm work; or any equivalent combination of experience and training.
Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA) Requirement: As required by the Prison Rape Elimination Act of 2003 (PREA), Federal law states that "....an agency shall not hire or promote anyone who may have contact with inmates and who:
