Maintenance Technician

Purpose & Scope:
The maintenance technician positionis responsible forperforming highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot,repairandmaintainproduction and facility equipment according to safety, predictive and productive maintenancesystemsand processes to support the achievement of thefacility’s business goals andobjectives. Including, installation, repairs, adjustments and maintenance of all equipment and machinerywith inthe facility.
Principle Responsibilities:
Perform highly diversified duties to install andmaintainproduction machines and thefacility’s
equipment.
- Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and performs scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service.
- Perform simple machinist duties and responsibilities.
- Perform mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic and troubleshooting and repair of production machines.
- Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
- Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test andmake adjustments.
- Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines,equipmentand plant facilities.
- Perform a variety of plumbing maintenance and carpentry functions.
- Use a variety of hand and power tools, electricmetersand material handling equipment in performing duties.
- Detectfaulty operations, defective material and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervision.
- Complywith safety regulations andmaintainclean and orderly work areas.
- Performtasks asassigned by theMaintenanceManager or Supervisor.
WhatYou’llNeed:
- Education:High School Diploma/GED preferred.
- Experience:Poultry or food maintenance/industry experience is a plus.
- Skills:Ability to multitask and work quickly,havegood communicationskills, ability tocomprehendsimple instructions and apply common sense, andmust be a team player and be willing to work close to other employees at some stations. (Less than 3 feet apart.)
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
- Physical requirements:Ability to work in cool temperatures (around 40 degrees), ability to stand and use hands for 8-11 hours perday andlift50bs or more.
