Come grow with us! The Le Mars Veterinary Clinic is looking to add a full-time small animal associate veterinarian. We are located in Northwest Iowa about an hour and half south of Sioux Falls, SD and about two hours north of Omaha, NE. In 2025 we built a new building with six exam rooms, a treatment room and a new surgery suite. We are a privately owned, fast paced, fast growing mixed animal clinic. We have a strong, well trained support staff, including two licensed veterinary technicians and nine veterinary assistants. We utilize a full complement of in house IDEXX analyzers including a Procyte, Chemistry analyzer and Sedivue. We offer CR radiography, with digital equine x-ray, as well as ultrasonography. There is no after hours in clinic on call. We offer a competitive salary, Simple IRA match, 50% paid health insurance, paid vacation, paid professional dues and CE expenses.

Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough examinations of animals to assess health status and diagnose medical conditions
- Perform surgical procedures, including spaying/neutering, wound repairs, dental cleanings and extractions and various other procedures (mentorship and instruction is available depending on experience and skill level).
- Administer vaccinations, medications, and treatments tailored to individual animals’ needs
- Apply aseptic techniques during surgeries and invasive procedures to prevent infection
- Manage laboratory tests, analyze results, and interpret data for accurate diagnosis
- Provide animal husbandry advice, and basic and advanced pet care instructions to clients
- Maintain detailed medical records adhering to veterinary standards
- Ensure a clean and sterile environment in all treatment areas
Requirements
- Veterinary degree from an accredited institution with valid licensing or certification to practice veterinary medicine
- Strong animal handling skills across various species with proficiency in dog and cat handling and animal restraint techniques
- Knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal anatomy, physiology, and best pet care practices.
- Laboratory experience including diagnostic testing procedures is desirable
- Experience with aseptic techniques during surgeries or invasive procedures
- Ability to perform pet grooming and basic animal husbandry tasks as needed
- Excellent communication skills for client education and team collaboration
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
