Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Cat Kennel Assistant to join our adoption center and pet care team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about animal welfare, reliable, and capable of providing exceptional care to our kitties awaiting adoption. This role involves assisting with daily kennel operations, ensuring a clean and safe environment, and supporting veterinary staff with animal handling and care. Prior experience in pet care is highly valued. The Cat Kennel Assistant plays a vital role in maintaining the health and comfort of our animals.

Responsibilities

Clean and disinfect cages and surrounding areas to maintain hygiene standards
Feed and provide fresh water to cats according to their dietary needs
Monitor animals for signs of illness or distress and report findings to veterinary staff
Support with pet grooming tasks such as bathing, brushing, or trimming as needed
Handle animals gently and confidently during daily interactions
Assist veterinary technicians with basic procedures and animal care tasks
Heavy lifting of supplies when necessary to ensure smooth kennel operations
Provide compassionate customer service by addressing questions or concerns

Qualifications

Experience in animal handling or kennel work preferred
Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and effectively
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
Reliable, responsible, and attentive to detail in all aspects of animal care
