Job Description: Our client is seeking an experienced Mixed Animal Medical Director to lead a progressive hospital serving both companion animals and large animal patients. This is a unique leadership opportunity for a veterinarian who enjoys clinical variety, team development, and shaping medical standards within a growing practice.
The hospital provides comprehensive small animal services including wellness care, surgery, dentistry, and diagnostics, alongside a well-equipped ambulatory large animal service supported by mobile veterinary units. Diagnostic capabilities include portable imaging and ultrasound, enabling on-site treatment and emergency response for large animal cases. The Medical Director will balance hands-on clinical work with leadership responsibilities, ensuring medical excellence, mentoring associate veterinarians, and partnering with management to guide operational performance.
Qualifications Needed:
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM or VMD) from an accredited institution
- Active California veterinary license in good standing
- DEA registration or ability to obtain and maintain
- Minimum of three to five years of clinical experience
- Strong surgical, diagnostic, and leadership skills
