Ellens Equipment is hiring a On-the-Road Service Technician to join our team in Ithaca, MI (about 25 miles south of Mt. Pleasant). In this role you will be maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing a wide range of farm machinery and agriculture equipment. This position involves field service work, supporting agricultural and construction equipment.

What you will be doing:
- Diagnose, service, and repair farm machinery and agriculture equipment, including mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and diesel systems
- Perform inspections and preventative maintenance both in-shop and at customer locations
- Accurately complete work orders, inspection reports, and service documentation using company systems
- Utilize proper tools and maintain clean, organized workspaces, equipment, and vehicles
- Follow all safety procedures and maintain a safe working environment
- Communicate effectively with customers, team members, and management regarding equipment status and repairs
- Collaborate with service, parts, and sales teams while supporting and mentoring junior technicians
- Participate in ongoing training to enhance skills and stay current with agriculture equipment technologies
- Work extended hours or weekends as needed to support business demands
This job is for you if you have:
- Proven experience working with farm machinery and agriculture equipment repair
- Strong understanding of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems
- Ability to read and interpret schematics and technical manuals
- Experience with diesel engine diagnostics and repair preferred
- Basic welding skills preferred
- Air conditioning service knowledge is a plus
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Self-motivated with strong organizational abilities
- Basic computer proficiency including Microsoft Excel and Word
- Ability to operate shop equipment such as forklifts, lifts, and diagnostic tools
