Job Description:
Provides technical and scientific support to ongoing animal genomics projects (goat/sheep), assisting in experimental execution, phenotyping, molecular workflows, and coordination of genomic analyses under the direction of the Program Lead.
Minimum Qualifications:
• PhD or MSc with relevant experience in Genetics, Genomics, Animal Science, or related field. • Hands-on experience in laboratory or animal research. • Familiarity with basic genomic concepts preferred. • Strong organizational skills and ability to work within a team environment.
Experience/Skills:
• Assist in implementation of genotype–phenotype studies. • Support biological sampling and phenotypic data collection. • Perform or assist with DNA/RNA extraction and laboratory workflows. • Coordinate with Bioinformatics Associates for data processing and analysis. • Maintain accurate experimental records and metadata. • Contribute to preparation of reports, figures, and internal documentation. • Follow established protocols and ensure compliance with KCGEB standards. • Support manuscript preparation and project deliverables as assigned.
