Your Role: Lead QA Engineer
Role & Responsibilities
Strategic Automation & Application Testing
- Architect and Lead the development of robust, scalable, and low-code test automation frameworks using Java, Selenium, TestNG, and Cucumber.
- Define the strategy for end-to-end testing of modern web applications using Playwright with TypeScript, ensuring seamless integration with BDD frameworks across different functions.
- Standardize automation patterns across the organization, including POM with Page Factory, Keyword-Driven, Data-Driven, and Hybrid frameworks.
- Oversee the execution and reporting of Smoke, Integration, System, and Regression suites, ensuring high confidence in release quality.
API & Backend Governance
- Establish best practices for API automation testing using REST-Assured.
- Govern the validation of API responses, security authentication mechanisms, and complex error-handling scenarios.
- Design reusable POJO models for parsing and validating large-scale JSON/XML payloads.
- Promote the use of Postman and Swagger for standardized API exploration and living documentation.
Data Engineering & Quality Strategy
- Lead the Data Quality (DQ) initiative, designing complex SQL and JDBC based validation frameworks for high-volume datasets.
- Strategize the validation of ETL/ELT pipelines, complex data transformations, and business logic within Azure Databricks.
- Architect solutions for validating schema evolution, late-arriving data, and ACID compliance in Delta tables.
- Drive automated reconciliation processes between disparate source systems and curated data layers.
CI/CD & DevOps Excellence
- Design and optimize CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, Jenkins, and YAML to automate quality checks at every stage of the SDLC.
- Implement advanced telemetry and reporting for test executions within build and release pipelines to provide real-time quality insights.
Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Act as a primary liaison between developers, product managers, and stakeholders to align testing efforts with business goals.
- Facilitate sprint planning and backlog grooming from a quality advocacy perspective.
- Mentor the team through peer reviews, managing pull requests, and enforcing rigorous coding and testing standards.
What You Need to Succeed (minimum qualifications):
7+ years of experience in QA Automation and Testing
Strong expertise in Java-based automation frameworks
Hands-on experience with Playwright and Selenium
Solid knowledge of API testing and backend validation
Strong SQL and database testing skills
Experience working with Azure Databricks or large-scale data platforms
Proven experience in CI/CD automation
Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
What will give you a competitive edge (preferred qualifications):
Exposure to Spark / PySpark-based data testing
Experience validating large datasets in lakehouse architectures
Knowledge of cloud-native testing strategies
Experience working in data-driven or analytics-heavy systems
