Job Summary
Dermatology Clinic for Animals is a single-doctor, privately-owned, referral-based veterinary practice focused on dermatological care, including allergies and immune-mediated skin and ear diseases. We are a high-quality, relationship-focused practice providing advanced care for dogs and cats throughout the region. Due to rapid growth and a consistently high client volume, we are seeking a Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) to join our nursing team.

Experience Requirements
- Minimum one year of previous LVT experience required (general practice, specialty, or emergency)
- Specialty experience preferred but not required
- Proficiency with electronic veterinary practice management software (experience with DaySmart a bonus but not required)

Duties and Responsibilities
Clinical & Technical Duties (LVT-Specific)
- Perform licensed veterinary technician duties in accordance with Washington State RCWs/WACs and under veterinarian supervision
- Calculate, prepare, administer, and document medications (including injectable, oral, and topical medications) as directed by the veterinarian
- Induce, monitor, and recover patients from anesthesia; monitor anesthetic depth, vital signs, and patient safety during procedures
- Prepare patients for surgery and diagnostic procedures, including catheter placement, aseptic preparation, and peri-anesthetic support
- Obtain and process diagnostic samples (blood, urine, cytology, cultures) for in-house and reference laboratory testing
- Perform and document technical procedures within LVT scope, including venipuncture, IV catheter placement, injections, and diagnostic support
- Accurately record patient histories, vital signs, treatments, and anesthetic records in the medical record
Patient Care & Hospital Flow
- Maintain efficient patient flow in exam rooms and procedural areas
- Utilize appropriate restraint techniques to ensure patient and staff safety
- Assist veterinarians with examinations, diagnostics, and medical procedures
- Maintain cleanliness, organization, and biosecurity of exam rooms, treatment areas, surgical suites, and kennels
Client Communication & Education
- Communicate effectively and professionally with clients regarding patient care, treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions as directed by the veterinarian
- Review product information, medication instructions, and follow-up care with clients in a clear and compassionate manner
- Demonstrate strong customer service skills and assist with resolving client concerns appropriately
Administrative & Support Duties
- May on occasion assist with front desk responsibilities as needed, including scheduling appointments and responding to client inquiries
- Maintain an active Washington State veterinary technician license and any required ancillary credentials (e.g., medication clerk license, if applicable)
Skills and Qualifications
- Active Washington State Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) credential in good standing
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accurate documentation and patient safety
- Ability to calculate drug dosages and administer medications accurately under veterinary direction
- Ability to communicate complex medical information to clients in an understandable and professional manner
- Demonstrates professionalism, adaptability, and teamwork in a fast-paced clinical environment
- Accepts guidance and feedback constructively and maintains positive working relationships with colleagues and clients
