\r\n\r\nOur client, is seeking an experienced and strategic Advisor, Policy and Programs to join their team in Guelph, Ontario. Reporting to into the Legal and Regulator department, the Advisor, Policy and Programs will play a critical role in development, oversight and implementation of policies and programs. This role will provide leadership related to strategic initiatives and advice on policy implications.\r\n\r\n\r\nRESPONSIBILITIES:\r\n\r\n\r\n\tPolicy leadership\r\n\t\r\n\t\tDefine and drive strategic direction for policy development and implementation with program initiatives, aligned with the strategic plan\r\n\t\tLiaise with external stakeholders to gather feedback/ gain support and alignment for recommendations and implementation\r\n\t\tDevelop presentations, briefings and communication documents for use by the board for external stakeholder meetings\r\n\t\tLead discussions with stakeholder on evolving policy development\r\n\t\r\n\t\r\n\tAdvise and Ensure Execution of Policies and Programs\r\n\t\r\n\t\tBe subject matter expert on all policies, regulations and bylaws\r\n\t\tManage policy review initiatives\r\n\t\tBe primary lead and contact for disease insurance policies\r\n\t\r\n\t\r\n\tStakeholder Relationships\r\n\t\r\n\t\tBuild and maintain strong relationships with internal partners, government officials, industry representatives, community organizations and other key stakeholders\r\n\t\tLead consultations, working groups and advisory committees\r\n\t\tBe lead representative for organization in external meetings, forums and consultations related to policy and programs\r\n\t\r\n\t\r\n\tGovernance\r\n\t\r\n\t\tLead and manage the annual nomination and elections process for the board\r\n\t\tEnsure compliance with regulatory, legal and financial requirements\r\n\t\r\n\t\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nDESIRED PROFILE:\r\n\r\n\r\n\tCompletion of University Degree in Business or Public Administration, Policy or related discipline\r\n\t5-10 years of progressive experience in policy, programs or business with at least 2 years of management experience\r\n\tExperience in strategic policy development and interpretation\r\n\tExperience working in a regulated environment\r\n\tExperience with Microsoft Office Suite, proficiency with Adobe Software Suite and ability to navigate and use online virtual networking software\r\n\tExcellent professional communication skills\r\n\tProject management skills\r\n\tExperience and understanding of the agricultural sector an asset\r\n\tBilingual in English/French is an asset (not required)\r\n\r\n
