Job Summary
Aquaculture Technician/Laborer and play a vital role in supporting sustainable aquatic farming operations. This energetic position involves hands-on fish and bait care, environmental monitoring, and maintaining aquaculture systems. Duties
- Assist handling, feeding, and health assessments of bait to promote optimal growth and well being
- Conduct routine inspections of aquaculture tanks, ponds, or cages, ensuring systems are functioning correctly and identifying issues early
- Perform data collection on water quality parameters such as pH, temperature, dissolved oxygen.
- Maintain and repair aquaculture infrastructure including plumbing systems, aeration devices, and mechanical equipment with basic mechanical knowledge
- Engage in heavy lifting tasks involving equipment, supplies, or harvested stock while following safety protocols
- Support general farm maintenance activities such as cleaning tanks, managing waste disposal, and ensuring animal enclosures are secure and sanitary
Experience
- Prior experience or familiarity with farming or agricultural practices is not necessary. Willing to train the right person
- Hands-on fish and bait handling skills and comfort with dissection procedures are beneficial
- Mechanical aptitude for troubleshooting plumbing issues or maintaining equipment is advantageous
- Ability to perform basic math calculations for water measurements or inventory management is required
- Physical stamina for heavy lifting and outdoor work in varying weather conditions is essential
