We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Veterinary Technician to join our dynamic veterinary team. Responsibilities
- Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and diagnostic procedures by preparing equipment and monitoring patient status.
- Perform animal restraint using humane techniques to ensure safety for both animals and staff.
- Conduct laboratory tests and analyze samples to aid in diagnosis and treatment planning.
- Maintain accurate medical records, including vaccination history, treatment notes, and laboratory results.
- Administer medications, vaccinations, and treatments as directed by the veterinarian with precision and care.
- Support pet owners with pet care advice, grooming tips, and post-treatment instructions to promote animal well-being.
- Handle animal husbandry tasks such as feeding, cleaning enclosures, and maintaining a clean and sterile environment using aseptic techniques.
- Take radiographs (X-ray) ensuring proper positioning and safety protocols are followed for accurate imaging.
- Assist with dental procedures by understanding dental terminology, performing dental radiographs and animal dental prophylaxis.
- Support critical care cases by monitoring vital signs, providing emergency interventions, and assisting in intensive animal care procedures.
- Use veterinary terminology accurately when documenting cases or communicating with the team to ensure clarity and professionalism.
- Perform laser therapy and assist in Platelet Rich Plasma administration.
- Rehabilitation experience not required, but most welcome.
- Orthopedic surgery assistance not required, but most welcome.
Experience
- Previous veterinary technician or assistant experience is required; familiarity with veterinary critical care is highly desirable.
- Strong animal handling skills across various species including dogs, cats, horses (equine experience preferred), and small animals.
- Knowledge of animal anatomy, physiology, and veterinary terminology to support accurate diagnostics and treatments.
- Hands-on experience with laboratory procedures such as sample collection and analysis.
- Proficiency in animal catheterization, anesthesia and restraint methods.
- Familiarity with X-ray procedures ensures high-quality imaging while maintaining safety standards for staff and animals alike. Pay: $23.80 - $25.00 per hour
