Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Veterinary Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality care to animals while assisting veterinarians in various medical procedures. This position requires a strong background in animal care, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist veterinarians during examinations and surgical procedures.
- Perform routine laboratory tests and diagnostic imaging, including X-rays.
- Administer medications, vaccinations, and treatments as prescribed by the veterinarian.
- Monitor and record vital signs of animals during procedures and recovery.
- Provide proper animal handling and restraint techniques for safe interactions.
- Educate pet owners on animal husbandry, nutrition, and preventive care.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the clinic, including sterilization of instruments.
- Assist in the management of patient records and documentation.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of pet care practices and animal husbandry.
- Proficiency in animal catheterization techniques.
- Experience with dog handling and general animal handling skills.
- Understanding of animal anatomy and veterinary terminology.
- Familiarity with dental terminology related to veterinary care.
- Capability to provide veterinary critical care when necessary.
- Ability to perform basic X-ray procedures and interpret results.

Pay: $21.38 - $22.66 per hour
