K & K Services is seeking a Seasonal Truck Driver - Dry Fertilizer Applicator to join our team for the busy fertilizer application season (approximately 2–3 months). Key Responsibilities
Truck Driver – Agriculture Semi Driver
- Safely operate a Peterbilt semi (18-speed, 13-speed, or 10-speed transmission)
- Pull a 38-ft conveyor trailer hauling dry fertilizer
- Transport product from fertilizer plant to mapped field locations
- Perform daily equipment checks (fuel, oil, trailer motor)
- Use smartphone navigation (Google Maps) to reach field sites
- Assist with truck and trailer maintenance as needed
CDL not required, but experience operating a semi in agricultural or farm settings is preferred.
Dry Fertilizer Applicator – Ag Equipment Operator
- Operate John Deere 4940 or 4045R spinner spreaders
- Apply dry fertilizer accurately across mapped acres
- Perform daily maintenance checks (fuel, oil, greasing equipment)
- Use iPads to receive and submit completed field data
- Operate John Deere monitors and displays (experience preferred, training provided)
Experience in:
- Custom fertilizer application
- Precision agriculture technology
- Row crop equipment operation
is a strong plus.
Qualifications
- Experience operating a semi and/or farm equipment (tractors, sprayers, fertilizer spreaders)
- Strong work ethic and willingness to work long hours during busy season
- Motivated, dependable, and eager to learn
- Comfortable working outdoors in production agriculture
- Ability to work up to 7 days per week when the fertilizer plant is operating
Compensation
- Truck Driver: $25/hour
- Dry Fertilizer Applicator: $30/hour + end-of-season acre bonus
Schedule & Work Environment
This is a high-intensity seasonal role during peak fertilizer application (approximately 2–3 months).
- Operations run 7 days per week while the fertilizer plant is open
- Weather (wind or rain) may create downtime
- Optional maintenance work available during delays
