About us
Launceston Veterinary Clinic has been providing trusted, professional pet health care for over 46 years. During this time, we have supported thousands of clients and their pets, while continually embracing advances in veterinary medicine to ensure the highest standard of care.
We are proud to care for a wide range of small animals within our community, including cats, dogs, guinea pigs, rabbits, ferrets, and birds. Our clinic is fully equipped with modern examination rooms, diagnostic equipment, and access to essential medications, enabling our experienced team to meet all your pet’s health and medical needs.
We believe exceptional veterinary care begins with clear communication. Our team is committed to helping clients understand their pet’s health concerns and treatment options, delivering care with compassion, transparency, and genuine dedication to every animal we see.
About the role
The key to most great clinics are the staff, and Vet Nurses who are able to act like an animal whisperer are what every pet owner wants. The ability to calm a furry friend that is in distress and keep them calm is one of those skills that reassures not just the patient, but the pet-parents and the Vets alike.
That’s really what we are looking for in this role, and we admit it’s a high bar – but that is what makes our clinic a great place to work. We are pets first, with their family a very close second.
We are passionate about providing a positive learning environment to make sure our nurses are highly skilled, and believe that everyone can learn new skills – and importantly for this role, take a role teaching the next generation of Vet Nurses.
Its attitude we can’t teach, but we are happy to teach other aspects of the role and provide opportunities for professional development – we do have some requirements for the role though;
- We need someone 38 hours a week
-
Have their Cert IV in Vet Nursing or equivalent and have clinical experience
- Be able to keep the clinic neat and tidy
- Help our Vets and from time to time help out with some admin tasks
- General clinical Nursing duties, from Nurse consults through to surgery and anaesthesia monitoring
