Job Description: Our client is seeking a Mixed Animal Veterinarian to join a well-established rural veterinary practice located in Fairlie, part of the wider South Canterbury veterinary network. This role offers the opportunity to work with a diverse caseload across companion animals and production animals while serving farming clients in the surrounding rural communities.
The position suits an experienced veterinarian comfortable working independently in a mixed practice environment. The successful candidate will manage a wide range of cases involving companion animals, dairy cattle and sheep, with additional opportunities to develop experience with deer herds within the region.
Qualifications Needed:
- Degree in Veterinary Medicine or Veterinary Science from an accredited university
- Eligibility for registration with the Veterinary Council of New Zealand
- Minimum three years of experience in mixed animal or rural veterinary practice preferred
- Ability to work confidently in sole charge situations when required
- Interest in deer medicine and production animal work considered advantageous
