\r\n\r\nJob Description\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nThe Opportunity:\r\n\r\nThe FSQA Process Leader role at the Heritage facility will be responsible for ensuring compliance to food safety and quality systems within their assigned area (e.g. Formulation/Stuffing, Slicing/Packaging, Palletizing).\r\n \r\n\r\nAny MLF team member interested in being considered for this role are encouraged to apply online by March 19. Applications received beyond that date are not guaranteed consideration.\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nReason for vacancy: Existing Headcount\r\nBase Salary: $46,000 - $69,000 CAD base pay annually\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nSnapshot of a Day-in-the-Life:\r\n\r\n\r\n\tPerform or assist in daily quality and food safety related decision making based on established processes to ensure products meet the quality standards and food safety requirements of Maple Leaf Foods and its' customers.\r\n\tReview and Verify acceptability of line inspections performed by operators (product weight, gas, critical to quality, critical quality parameters, etc).\r\n\tConduct EMP/TPC swabs and pre-op inspections.\r\n\tProduct HOLDs on floor, product sample collections (shelf life, daily product cuttings) and quarantine management requirements as required.\r\n\tPerform daily monitoring and verification tasks as outlined in the HACCP program and issue corrective actions for deviations. Prerequisite program requirements (area audits)\r\n\tPrepare sensory samples and participates in sensory evaluations.\r\n\tVerify and audit sanitation practices and chemical concentrations as outlined in SSOP’s.\r\n\tPerform microbiological and analytical sampling for product and environment.\r\n\tParticipate in projects and meeting with the goal of improving food safety ad food quality.\r\n\tAssist in the implementation of changes that advance QA systems.\r\n\tProvide support and coaching to employees and production management to maintain and improve their QA practices and procedures.\r\n\tShall demonstrate full commitment to the implementation of the requirements of the Global Standard for Food Safety and to processes which facilitate continual improvement of food safety and quality management.\r\n\tAbility to enter data and complete trace exercises within SAP.\r\n\tIdentification, entry and closure of non-conformance within your area\r\n\tGuide and support all employees in the Maple Leaf Leadership Values\r\n\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nWhat You’ll Bring:\r\n\r\n\r\n\tBachelor of Science or Diploma in Food Safety/Science program or equivalent experience.\r\n\tHACCP I-II certified is an asset.\r\n\tStrong understanding of Sanitation, SOPs, Pre-requisite Programs, HACCP, CCP’s and GMP’s.\r\n\tPrevious experience with maintaining/validation of FSEP program.\r\n\t2-3 years QA experience in the Food industry preferred.\r\n\tStrong MS Office skills.\r\n\tKnowledge of SAP is an asset\r\n\tExcellent organization and planning skills, high attention to detail and a willingness to learn and teach others, be self-directed and motivated.\r\n\tStrong oral and written communication skills\r\n\tEnvironment - Plant environment (ambient and refrigerated); 24-7, 2 shift operation\r\n\tVolume & Complexity of Work - A fast paced work environment with multiple, tight and changing priorities\r\n\tTravel Requirements – Minimal\r\n\tPhysical Requirements – Low\r\n\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nWhat We Offer at Maple Leaf Foods:\r\n\r\n\r\n\tBeing part of a high-performance, people-focused company that has an inspiring and unique vision to become the most sustainable protein company on earth, and a deep commitment to sustainable protein across North America.\r\n\tAn inclusive company culture and a work environment that keeps our people safe, rewards excellence, and empowers everyone to learn and contribute their best. \r\n\tCompetitive Health and Wellness benefits that offer flexibility to meet your individual or family needs, including programs focused on improving mental health and wellbeing.
