St Joe Tree Farm is hiring a Tree Farm Foreman to join our team in Fort Wayne, IN. In this role you will perform daily field operations, tree production, equipment care, and seasonal retail activities. This is a 1300 to 1400 hour per year position with heavier hours during planting and Christmas retail seasons.

We are a family-owned Christmas tree farm with a small year-round team that expands to 20 to 25 employees during the retail Christmas season. The farm offers a fast-paced, hands-on work environment focused on quality trees, excellent customer service, and strong team values. Many employees have been with the farm for over 20 years, reflecting a supportive and rewarding workplace culture.

We offer competitive compensation of $22 - $27 per hour based on experience, protective equipment provided, flexible scheduling during off-season, and a family-oriented work environment.

What you will be doing:

Perform tree planting, shearing, fertilizing, spraying, and harvesting
Maintain farm property, grounds, and buildings
Operate and maintain tractors, mowers, chainsaws, and other equipment
Assist with pesticide and herbicide applications using proper PPE
Harvest Christmas trees and greenery from farm
Support retail operations from late November through mid-December
Unload and handle fresh tree shipments and greenery
Deliver excellent customer service during retail season

This job is for you if you have:

Previous farm, agriculture, forestry, or Christmas tree farm experience preferred
Ability to operate tractors, chainsaws, and farm equipment safely
Self-motivated with ability to work independently
Strong communication and customer service skills
Willingness to learn Christmas tree growing processes and provide suggestions for improvements
Good organizational skills with strong attention to detail
Valid driver license with insurance
Ability to lift 50 pounds and work outdoors in varying weather conditions
Severe allergies to stinging insects, plants or fauna or severe asthma will limit ability to perform this job
Must pass background check and drug screening
