Duties
- Provide daily care routines including feeding, watering, administering medications, and cleaning enclosures to maintain a clean and healthy environment
- Engage animals with positive reinforcement training techniques such as basic dog training commands to promote good behavior
- Handle dogs and cats safely using proper animal restraint and handling techniques to ensure safety for both animals and staff
- Assist with pet grooming activities like bathing, brushing, and nail trimming to keep animals comfortable and well-maintained
- Support veterinary procedures by observing animals during examinations, assisting with restraint, and monitoring post-treatment recovery
- Offer pet sitting services by providing companionship, exercise, and enrichment activities for animals in our care
- Maintain accurate records of animal health, behavior observations, feeding schedules, and treatment plans to support veterinary teams
Requirements
- Prior experience with dog handling, pet grooming, or veterinary assistance is highly desirable
- Knowledge of dog training techniques and veterinary technician or assistant experience is a plus
- Ability to perform heavy lifting of animals or supplies safely when needed
- Strong animal handling skills with an understanding of animal restraint techniques
- Excellent customer service skills to communicate effectively with pet owners and team members
- Compassionate attitude with a genuine love for animals and their well-being
- Ability to follow detailed instructions carefully while maintaining a lively, energetic approach to daily tasks
