\r\nSenior Director of Finance\r\n\r\n\r\nLocation: Hybrid (2 days per week in-office, Brighton, IL)\r\nPosition Overview\r\n\r\n\r\nThe Senior Director of Finance will serve as a key member of the executive leadership team, responsible for overseeing all financial operations including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and team leadership. This role requires a balance of strategic financial oversight and hands-on accounting management, ensuring compliance, operational efficiency, and strong fiscal health.\r\n\r\nThe ideal candidate will bring proven experience managing complex cash flow environments—particularly those involving seasonal or cyclical revenue streams—and a background in agriculture, agribusiness, or service-oriented organizations.\r\n\r\n\r\nKey Responsibilities\r\n\r\nFinancial Leadership\r\n\r\n\r\n\t\r\n\tProvide strategic direction and oversight for financial planning and management.\r\n\t\r\n\t\r\n\tDevelop and execute financial strategies aligned with business goals and long-term growth objectives.\r\n\t\r\n\r\n\r\nAccounting & Reporting\r\n\r\n\r\n\t\r\n\tOversee all accounting functions, including accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and general ledger.\r\n\t\r\n\t\r\n\tEnsure accurate and timely financial reporting in accordance with GAAP and regulatory standards.\r\n\t\r\n\r\n\r\nBudgeting & Forecasting\r\n\r\n\r\n\t\r\n\tLead annual budgeting and ongoing forecasting processes.\r\n\t\r\n\t\r\n\tDeliver financial insights and recommendations to guide executive decision-making.\r\n\t\r\n\r\n\r\nCash Flow Management\r\n\r\n\r\n\t\r\n\tMonitor liquidity and cash flow, ensuring financial stability through cyclical revenue periods.\r\n\t\r\n\t\r\n\tDevelop and maintain relationships with banking and financial partners to support funding and credit needs.\r\n\t\r\n\r\n\r\nRisk & Compliance\r\n\r\n\r\n\t\r\n\tIdentify and mitigate financial and operational risks.\r\n\t\r\n\t\r\n\tEstablish and maintain sound internal controls and compliance with all financial regulations.\r\n\t\r\n\r\n\r\nTeam Leadership\r\n\r\n\r\n\t\r\n\tManage and mentor a small, high-performing finance and accounting team.\r\n\t\r\n\t\r\n\tFoster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.\r\n\t\r\n\r\n\r\nStakeholder Engagement\r\n\r\n\r\n\t\r\n\tPresent financial results and strategies to executive leadership and the board.\r\n\t\r\n\t\r\n\tServe as a strategic partner to the CEO, COO, and cross-functional department leaders.\r\n\t\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nQualifications & Competencies\r\n\r\nExperience\r\n\r\n\r\n\t\r\n\t7–10 years of progressive financial leadership, with at least 3 years in a Controller or senior finance role.\r\n\t\r\n\t\r\n\tExperience in agriculture, financial services, or service-based organizations preferred.\r\n\t\r\n\t\r\n\tDemonstrated success managing delayed or seasonal cash flow cycles.\r\n\t\r\n\r\n\r\nEducation\r\n\r\n\r\n\t\r\n\tBachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field required.\r\n\t\r\n\t\r\n\tMBA or CPA designation preferred.\r\n\t\r\n\r\n\r\nSkills & Attributes\r\n\r\n\r\n\t\r\n\tDeep understanding of financial reporting, forecasting, and risk management.\r\n\t\r\n\t\r\n\tStrong analytical and problem-solving abilities with sound business judgment.\r\n\t\r\n\t\r\n\tExceptional communication skills, able to simplify complex financial data for diverse stakeholders.\r\n\t\r\n\t\r\n\tHands-on leader who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.\r\n\t\r\n\t\r\n\tHigh ethical standards and commitment to confidentiality.\r\n\t\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nAdditional Information\r\n\r\n\r\n\t\r\n\tHybrid work environment: approximately two days per week in-office.\r\n\t\r\n\t\r\n\tOccasional travel to meetings, key clients, and board sessions.\r\n\t\r\n\t\r\n\tOpportunity for growth into a broader executive financial leadership role over time.\r\n\t\r\n\tIf you’re looking to join a supportive and innovative team culture, we’d love to hear from you!\r\n\t\r\n\tInterested in this Opportunity?
