Job Description:
Our client is seeking a Small Animal Emergency Veterinarian to join a busy 24-hour emergency hospital delivering urgent and critical care services. This role is suited to a veterinarian who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys managing complex cases where rapid assessment and decisive treatment are essential. The hospital provides immediate care for patients presenting with trauma, acute illness, and urgent medical needs.
The practice is supported by an experienced emergency team and modern diagnostic equipment that enables veterinarians to provide advanced patient care. Working alongside skilled veterinary nurses and support staff, the successful candidate will be responsible for managing emergency cases, overseeing hospitalized patients, and ensuring excellent communication with pet owners during critical situations.
Responsibilities
- Triaging and stabilizing emergency patients upon arrival
- Assessing, diagnosing, and developing treatment plans for critical cases
- Performing emergency surgical procedures when required
- Monitoring hospitalized patients and adjusting treatment plans
- Supervising veterinary technicians while ensuring high clinical standards
Qualifications Needed:
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree or equivalent qualification
- Eligible for veterinary licensure in the USA
- Experience or strong interest in emergency and critical care medicine
- Ability to make confident clinical decisions in high-pressure situations
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
