Job Purpose and Impact
The Process Safety Engineer will apply technical knowledge of process safety to deploy corporate standards to handle hazardous processes. In this role, you will help build process safety capabilities within the site, and work with the Utilities team and corresponding departments, to provide the technical knowledge and assistance to ensure consistent implementation of process safety standards. You will partner with our safety teams to participate in developing strategies to deploy, implement and sustain corporate process safety risk management standards and ensure prevention of serious process safety events.
Key Accountabilities
- Provide technical, regulatory and strategic consultation, support and training on safety risk management requirements and tools to help local sites build a strong process safety risk management culture.
- Develop and execute ongoing partner and change management processes, communication and educational activities across regions.
- Use experienced knowledge to deliver guidance and training solutions related to process safety practices.
- Collaborate with domain and technology teams to deploy technologies that can help achieve objectives and best practices in process safety.
- Participate in the global process safety leadership team, evaluating and assessing the performance of the corporate process safety standards.
- Track site process safety performance through internal auditing and measuring.
- Independently handle complex issues with minimal supervision, while escalating only the most complex issues to appropriate staff.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field; or equivalent experience,
- Basic knowledge of the relevant site processes and their hazards
- Experience in Microsoft
- Minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience
- Understanding of hazard analysis (HAZOP, What-If, LOPA)
- Understanding of consequence analysis and risk calculations
- Understanding of chemical process operatons and safety principles
- Familiarity with industrial standards (e.g OSHA PSM, IIAR)
- Competence in developing and implementing safety procedures
Preferred Qualifications
- Certified process safety professional through an external professional organization.
