Our client is seeking a Veterinary Internist (Diplomate or Residency-Trained) to join a specialist referral and emergency hospital located in Austin, Texas. This full-time role offers the opportunity to work within a multidisciplinary environment alongside experienced specialists and emergency clinicians, delivering advanced internal medicine care to companion animal patients.
The hospital is a well-established referral centre providing a wide range of specialist services including surgery, oncology, neurology and critical care. The facility is equipped with advanced diagnostic and treatment technology, enabling the management of complex medical cases while supporting collaboration across clinical departments.

Responsibilities
Manage complex internal medicine cases from referral through to diagnosis and treatment
Perform advanced diagnostic procedures and interpret results to guide clinical decisions
Collaborate with specialists and emergency clinicians to ensure integrated patient care
Develop detailed treatment plans tailored to each patient’s condition
Communicate clearly with referring veterinarians and pet owners regarding case progress
Maintain accurate and thorough medical records for all cases
Participate in clinical discussions and contribute to case reviews within the hospital
Support and guide nursing and support staff in delivering high-quality patient care
Qualifications Needed
Board-certified Veterinary Internist (Diplomate) or residency-trained clinician
Eligibility for veterinary licensure in the state of Texas
Strong expertise in internal medicine diagnostics and case management
Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary referral environment
Excellent communication skills for both client interaction and professional collaboration
Proven ability to manage complex cases in a fast-paced clinical setting
