Job Summary
Join our Upcoming Queens Clinic Opening (Pending Acquisition) as a Veterinary Assistant and play a vital role in providing exceptional care and support to our animal patients. You will be responsible for assisting with animal handling, and maintaining a clean, organized clinic environment. Duties
- Assist veterinarians and veterinary technicians with animal examinations, and treatment
- Handle animals safely using proper restraint techniques for various species including dogs, and cats
- Support animal husbandry practices such as feeding, bathing, and cleaning enclosures
- Prepare examination rooms and surgical areas ensuring aseptic techniques are maintained
- Manage laboratory tasks including sample processing
- Support front desk operations by scheduling appointments, updating patient records, and communicating with pet owners
- Monitor animals during recovery from anesthesia or medical procedures ensuring their safety and comfort
Qualifications
- Prior kennel experience or animal care background preferred; experience working in veterinary clinics is highly valued
- Strong knowledge of animal handling, restraint techniques, and pet care protocols
- Ability to work effectively with diverse species including dogs, and cats
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with clients and team members
- Demonstrated ability to follow detailed instructions accurately and maintain a clean work environment

Pay: $17.00 - $17.50 per hour
