Caudill Seed Company is seeking a Plant Breeder to join and help advance our long-standing Brassica breeding program. The successful candidate will work with an established germplasm collection and breeding pipeline focused on improving glucoraphanin expression, agronomic performance, and seed production characteristics. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to a specialized breeding program focused on both crop improvement and nutritional trait development.

Responsibilities
- Breeding activities for Brassicas and related Brassica germplasm
- Design and execute crossing programs and selection strategies with the current director's guidance
- Manage field trials and breeding nurseries
- Evaluate germplasm for agronomic performance and target phytochemical traits
- Maintain and expand proprietary germplasm collections
- Coordinate with production teams to support commercial seed production
- Integrate modern breeding tools, including molecular markers and genomic data where appropriate
- Maintain accurate breeding records and data management systems
Qualifications
Required
- PhD or MS in Plant Breeding, Plant Genetics, Crop Science, Horticulture, or related field
- Experience with field-based crop improvement programs
- Strong understanding of plant breeding principles and experimental design
Preferred
- Experience with vegetable or brassica crops
- Familiarity with glucosinolate or secondary metabolite traits
- Experience with marker-assisted or genomic selection methods
- Ability to manage field trials and breeding nurseries
