Our client is seeking an Owner & Medical Director Veterinarian to lead a well-established small animal hospital in San Antonio, Texas. This unique opportunity combines clinical leadership with co-ownership, allowing you to shape the direction of the practice while sharing in its long-term success.

The hospital provides a full range of services including preventative care, diagnostics, surgery, grooming, and boarding. With a strong client base and modern facilities, this role is ideal for a veterinarian looking to step into leadership while maintaining hands-on clinical involvement.

Responsibilities

Provide high-quality clinical care including consultations, diagnostics, and surgery n
Establish and maintain medical standards, protocols, and best practices n
Lead clinical decision-making and ensure excellent patient outcomes n
Oversee medical record accuracy and compliance n
Mentor and support associate veterinarians and clinical teams n
Contribute to recruitment, onboarding, and team development n
Drive operational efficiency and workflow improvements n
Support financial performance, revenue growth, and strategic planning n
Engage with the local community and contribute to practice growth n

Qualifications Needed

n

n
Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or equivalent degree from an accredited institution n
Eligible for or holding veterinary licensure in Texas n
Previous leadership or senior clinical experience preferred n
Strong clinical skills across small animal general practice n
Excellent communication and team leadership abilities n
Interest in business operations and practice ownership n
Ability to work collaboratively and drive a positive team culture n
Commitment to high standards of patient care and continuous improvement n

Competitive salary $185,000 – $225,000+ (DOE) n
