Who We Are
At Woodland Animal Hospital, we’re more than just a veterinary practice - we’re a close-knit crew of passionate animal lovers who believe in doing great work and enjoying the journey together. With two thriving locations in Springfield and Hickman, our independently owned hospital blends small-town values with modern, high-quality medicine. Our technicians are valued professionals, not just task-doers. You’ll have a voice here, real work-life balance, and the opportunity to practice cutting-edge medicine in a supportive, fun, and caring environment.
Why You’ll Love Working Here
Independently Owned, Locally Rooted
We’re proud to be family-owned, not corporate. That means genuine relationships, a leadership team that listens, and a workplace that celebrates collaboration and growth.
Balanced, Healthy Work Life
We believe excellent patient care starts with a happy, supported team and an environment that supports your ability to bring your best self to work every day. Flexible scheduling and respect for your time outside of work are part of who we are. And of course, we think on demand snuggles from a sweet kitten or playful pup is the ultimate on-the-job perk!
Modern, High-Quality Medicine
Our team practices progressive medicine using modern technology including digital imaging, dental radiography, full in-house diagnostic capabilities with associated telemedicine and more, while maintaining the compassionate touch our clients love. We are committed to continuing to grow with veterinary medicine advancements to provide the best possible care to our clients and their furry family members.
Positive Culture & Teamwork
At Woodland, teamwork isn’t just talk. You’ll work with people who are united around a shared purpose and truly care about pets, clients, and each other. We celebrate the wins, collaboratively solve challenges, and commit to showing up for each other each and every day. Input and feedback from all team members is not only encouraged, it’s an expectation that allows us to continue to develop in ways that make a true, tangible difference for our team.
What You’ll Do
As a Veterinary Assistant at Woodland Animal Hospital, you’ll be the heartbeat of our medical team — the calm in the chaos, the steady hands in surgery, and the friendly face that makes clients feel at ease.

- Bringing a positive attitude and a teamwork mindset because we believe the best medicine starts with a great team
