Responsibilities
- Assist veterinary staff with animal restraint, medication administration, and basic medical procedures to ensure safe and effective treatment.
- Handle animals including dogs and cats, applying proper animal husbandry and handling techniques.
- Support kennel operations by cleaning, feeding, monitoring health status, and maintaining a clean environment for all animals.
- Prepare examination rooms, assist during surgeries or diagnostics using aseptic techniques, and manage laboratory samples with accuracy.
- Provide front desk support by scheduling appointments, managing patient records, and communicating with pet owners professionally.
- Assist with laboratory testing, and understand veterinary terminology to support clinical workflow.
- Maintain detailed documentation of treatments, medications administered, and observations in compliance with clinic protocols.
Skills
- Proven kennel experience combined with animal husbandry knowledge to ensure optimal care standards.
- Veterinary technician or veterinary clinic experience demonstrating familiarity with clinical procedures and equipment.
- Strong animal handling skills with dogs and cats.
- Knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal anatomy, physiology, and aseptic technique essential for supporting medical procedures.
- Ability to administer medications accurately and perform animal restraint confidently during examinations or treatments.
- Laboratory experience related to sample collection or diagnostic testing enhances your contribution to clinical diagnostics.
- Excellent communication skills for front desk duties and client interactions; compassionate pet care approach required.
