Description
In this role, you will support children aged 2 - 18 with ASD, ADHD, developmental delays, sensory processing challenges, emotional regulation difficulties, social interaction issues, and related special needs. You will use structured animal-assisted sessions to enhance engagement, confidence, communication, emotional regulation, motivation, and participation. You will collaborate closely with parents and the clinical team to ensure each child’s intervention plan is individualized, measurable, and aligned with the center’s multidisciplinary approach.
Role & Responsibilities:
- Conduct individual and group animal-assisted therapy sessions
- Work with children with autism, ADHD, sensory needs, developmental delays, behavioral concerns, anxiety, and social communication challenges.
- Provide parent guidance, feedback, and home carryover recommendations to support progress outside the clinic setting.
- Maintain accurate documentation including session notes, progress reports, treatment plans, and multidisciplinary updates.
- Develop therapy plans tailored to each child’s needs and goals
- Monitor, document, and evaluate the child’s progress and therapy outcomes
- Ensure the welfare, safety, and hygiene of therapy animals
- Collaborate with therapists, educators, and families to maximize intervention effectiveness
- Stay updated on best practices, research, and regulations in animal-assisted therapy

Skills & Competencies:
- Strong knowledge of animal-assisted therapy principles
- Experience in pediatric or child development settings
- Ability to plan and deliver safe, effective interventions
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Understanding of animal welfare, safety, and hygiene standards
Education & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Animal Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Psychology, or a related field.
- Certification in Animal-Assisted Therapy preferred.
- UAE experience with children (ages 2 - 18) in relevant settings highly preferred.
