Our client is a successful, progressive and growing free-range egg farm based on strong principles of sustainability and animal welfare.
THE ROLE
A vacancy has arisen for a hands-on Poultry Farm Manager to work closely within and alongside a small team to ensure high standards of animal welfare and deliver agreed performance targets.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Direct, hands-on involvement in daily farm activities and organising team members to monitor the health and welfare of the flock and deliver agreed performance targets.
- Plan and deliver workforce needs in alignment with flock scheduling.
- Data capture and recording to monitor flock performance in real time.
- Induction and training of new employees.
- Ensure a safe work environment.
- Ensure biosecurity policy is strictly adhered to.
- Monitor and manage maintenance of farm plant and equipment.
REQUIREMENTS
- Prior experience in poultry management preferably, but not necessarily in egg layers.
- Prior experience in working in and leading, training and mentoring a small team.
- A hands-on, collaborative management style.
- Mechanical aptitude.
LOCATION Monegeetta, one hour's drive north from the Melbourne CBD.
REMUNERATION
A competitive salary package will be offered commensurate with experience. 3 bedroom on-farm accommodation will be provided.
