This Co-Manager will assist the Hatchery Manager in all aspects of hatchery operations, personnel and processes to ensure efficient production while meeting all regulatory standards.\r\n\r\nResponsibilities:\r\n\r\n\r\n\tSupervise and assign tasks to staff.\r\n\tCommunicate and coordinate product flow among Location Manager, Flock Manager, and customers.\r\n\tOversee and ensure all operations are documented and performed in the Mtech ERP system.\r\n\tImplement and develop animal welfare-oriented workforce with a focus on quality to our customers.\r\n\tHandles communications of all emergency breakdown situations and work in conjunction with management to minimize downtime and effects on production systems and customers.\r\n\tOversee on-call weekend checks and assignment of responsibilities for the facility. Schedules appropriate staff for this function.\r\n\tCoordinate communication with management regarding needed capital investments and schedules of such investments.\r\n\tManages oversight of incubation processes for the hatchery.\r\n\tOversee Maintenance Staff and maintains facility in excellent working order.\r\n\tMaintains inventories of products needed for production of day-old chicks as directed by manager.\r\n\tManages oversight of incubation processes for the hatchery including familiarizing and learning the operation of all single and multi-stage setters and hatchers, ventilation systems, and all other systems in the facility as directed by Hatchery Manager.\r\n\tAssist management in quality control, evaluations of 14-day breakouts, moisture loss of eggs set, and all parameters important in contributing to viability of day-old chicks produced.\r\n\tDevelop a firm knowledge of poultry diseases and administration and inventory of vaccines for use in day old chicks.\r\n\tAssists in implementation of a world class C&D program and biosecurity protocols for the hatchery.\r\n\tAssist with hiring, training, evaluation, and disciplining hatchery staff.\r\n\tAssist in on-call weekend checks of the facility as needed.\r\n\tImplement and assist in development of S.O.P.’s for the hatchery.\r\n\tStay up to date on all Safety, Biosecurity and Animal Welfare programs.\r\n\r\n\r\nAdditional Duties:\r\n\r\nCover for team members during vacations, absences, etc. which may require occasional tasks outside the scope of your job.\r\n\r\nPerform other job duties as assigned.\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nALL INQUIRIES ARE KEPT CONFIDENTIAL.
