Job Summary
Join our innovative team as an Underwater Bee Keeper, where you will be at the forefront of aquatic apiculture, cultivating and maintaining underwater bee colonies in specialized aquatic environments. Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate daily operations of underwater bee colonies, ensuring optimal conditions for bee health and productivity.
- Maintain and repair specialized aquaculture equipment, including pumps, filtration systems, and underwater habitat structures using hand tools, power tools, welding, and equipment repair techniques.
- Monitor environmental parameters such as water quality, temperature, and oxygen levels; adjust irrigation systems and other farm machinery to sustain ideal living conditions.
- Handle animals with care, ensuring proper animal husbandry practices are followed; assist with feeding, health checks, and disease prevention strategies.
- Operate heavy machinery such as forklifts and heavy equipment safely for transporting supplies or installing habitat components.
- Conduct routine inspections of underwater habitats and perform maintenance tasks to prevent equipment failure or habitat deterioration.
- Document all activities meticulously, including animal care routines, equipment repairs, environmental data logs, and incident reports.
Experience
- Supervising experience in animal husbandry or aquaculture settings is highly preferred.
- Mechanical knowledge related to farm machinery, irrigation systems, and equipment repair is essential.
- Hands-on experience with welding, power tools, hand tools, and heavy equipment operation will be advantageous.
- Familiarity with animal handling techniques specific to aquatic or terrestrial animals; equine experience is a plus but not required.
- Growing experience in horticulture or greenhouse environments can be beneficial for habitat plantings or environmental enrichment projects.
- Basic math skills for measurements, calculations related to water flow rates, feed quantities, or environmental adjustments are necessary.
- Knowledge of farming or agriculture practices relevant to sustainable aquaculture or underwater ecosystems is desirable.
