Apt Resources is seeking an experienced Farm Veterinarian to join a leading dairy farm in Abu Dhabi, UAE.
The Farm Veterinarian will be responsible for ensuring the health and well-being of the dairy herd through preventive healthcare, diagnosis, treatment, and management of animal diseases.
You will play a vital role in improving production efficiency and maintaining the highest standards of animal welfare.
Responsibilities Conduct regular health assessments and clinical examinations of dairy cattle.
Diagnose and treat illnesses, injuries, and infectious diseases in the herd.
Develop and implement herd health programs including vaccination schedules, biosecurity, and disease prevention protocols.
Provide guidance and training to farm staff on animal care, handling, and welfare practices.
Manage and oversee reproductive programs including artificial insemination and pregnancy diagnosis.
Monitor and manage nutrition, hygiene, and living conditions of the animals.
Maintain accurate health and medical records for all livestock.
Collaborate with farm management to improve herd performance and productivity.
Ensure compliance with local animal health regulations and food safety standards.
Stay updated on latest veterinary practices and research relevant to dairy farming.
Salary: AED 18,000 - AED 20,000, plus accommodation provided, medical insurance (Employee and Family), Air Ticket (Self and Family) , Education Assistance for kids (up to 18yrs old) - 2kid only.
Bachelor's degree in Veterinary Medicine (BVSc) and valid UAE veterinary license.
Minimum 5 years of clinical veterinary experience, preferably in dairy farm environments.
Strong knowledge of bovine health, reproduction, nutrition, and disease management.
Experience in herd health program development and implementation.
Ability to train and supervise farm staff effectively.
Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Physical ability to work in farm settings under various environmental conditions.
Commitment to animal welfare and ethical veterinary practices.
Willingness to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays as necessary.
