What you’ll do
Pre-Mixer plays a critical role in preparing raw materials and ensuring the feed mill operates smoothly and efficiently. This position requires attention to detail, adherence to safety protocols, and collaboration and supporting with the Machine Operators and other team members.
Weigh and prepare raw materials according to production specifications, ensuring accurate proportions, operate and maintain pre-mixing equipment, ensuring it functions correctly and efficiently
Conduct regular checks to ensure raw materials meet quality standards, adhere to and enforce safety protocols, particularly during material handling
Keep accurate records of raw materials and report any shortages or discrepancies
Collaborate and support Machine Operators with pelleting machine primarily running PM1, work closely with the Machine Operator to ensure seamless handoff and production flow
Participate in initiatives to improve efficiency and reduce waste
Who we’re looking for
Grade 12 or equivalent.
Experience working in a Feed Mill or manufacturing environment preferred
Ability to work with a team but also self-motivated to be able to work independently with minimal supervision
Mechanically inclined, with the ability to troubleshoot minor equipment issues
Use of personal protective equipment (e.g., hard hat, safety boots, etc.) as required
Capable of operating equipment and working at heights when required
You’ll also need
Ability to regularly bend, twist, climb ladders, open/close lids and stand for extended periods, ability to lift and move up to 25 kg (55 lbs) regularly
Comfortable performing repetitive tasks in a fast-paced physically demanding environment, comfortable working in a dusty, noisy, and variable-temperature environment
Knowledge of raw materials and feed mill operations an asset
Have training and forklift driving experience (an asset)
Rotating shifts may be required, including occasional weekends or extended hours based on operational needs
