The Opportunity
Almarai is seeking a highly experienced Senior Engineering Manager – Manufacturing Execution System (MES) to support the continued digitization and optimization of its manufacturing operations. This role will be responsible for leading the design, implementation, and ongoing enhancement of MES solutions that enable paperless manufacturing, production visibility, system integration, and operational excellence across multiple manufacturing sites.
The successful candidate will act as the bridge between manufacturing, quality, engineering, and IT teams, ensuring MES platforms are aligned with business goals and plant requirements. The role will lead MES deployments and upgrades, manage system integrators and technology partners, and ensure robust integration with automation systems. A strong focus will be placed on standardization, scalability, compliance, and long‑term sustainability of MES solutions while supporting plant operations through stable and well‑validated systems.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in IT / Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- Minimum 7 years’ experience in Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), MOM, or digital manufacturing – preferably, pharmaceutical, food or dairy processing.
- Proven track record delivering multi‑site or enterprise‑scale MES implementations
- Experience within FMCG, food & beverage, pharmaceutical, or regulated manufacturing environments
- Hands-on experience with MES platforms such as Siemens Opcenter (Execution / Pharma / Discrete), SIMATIC IT, Camstar, or similar
- Experience interfacing MES with automation systems, historians (e.g., OSI PI), OPC, and third‑party applications
- Familiarity with system validation, data integrity, and manufacturing standards (e.g., GAMP 5, 21 CFR Part 11, ISA‑95 / ISA‑88)
